Sidequest: Claw Shot City
- Howdy pardner! To travel to the Claw Shot City, you need to be at least a Lord/Lady, and to have collected the Whisker Woods Clearing Map Piece. If you meet these requirements, you can find it under the Varmint Valley region.
- None of the trap weapons you collected elsewhere would work here. These mice are only vulnerable to a new power type: Law. You can get a Law-aligned weapon in the trapsmith, in the form of the S.L.A.C. (Spring-Loaded Attack Cactus). It will cost you 150,000 gold.
- Brie or Gouda is sufficient for attraction. Super Brie, if you can afford it, would attract more Pyrite mice, which drop a good amount of Fool's Gold.
- If you can afford them, I recommend you use Prospector Charms from the Charm Shoppe. The power boost is a lot more useful when you're using a trap with such little power on its own. Additionally, this will attract more Prospector mice, which drop Fool's Gold.
- You can also earn Fool's Gold by collecting a Wanted Poster from a Bounty Hunter mouse and catching the mice listed on it. These are basically special treasure maps; you can't use them if you're already on a treasure map, and they can be dusted with Rare Map Dust to increase the rewards. However, your party is limited to two people: yourself, and a friend you can invite as "deputy".
- Bounty Hunter mice can only be encountered if you don't have a Wanted Poster in your inventory and aren't following one.
- Each poster will describe a gang, consisting of four "crew" mice, and a "ringleader" mouse. Some of these mice can only be encountered if you have an outstanding bounty on them, and the ringleader mouse can only be caught last.
- Once you have 500 Fool's Gold, you can upgrade your trap. The S.L.A.C. II is a more powerful Law trap. It'll also cost you 275,000 gold.
- There is also a Claw Shot Base available for 350 Fool's Gold and 75,000 gold. This gives you a power boost when used with the S.L.A.C or S.L.A.C II, but only when you're in Claw Shot City. Arming Cactus Charms from the charm shoppe would increase the boost further.
